Tierfon Timepiece #5 — ‘Kuromaguro’ (クロマグロ)

This one came off the bench and I actually stopped to stare at it. First Tuna shroud case I have ever worked on, and I get the obsession now. Kuromaguro is black tuna, and the name stuck the second the case was on the bench: thick protective shroud, high-shouldered lugs, that chunky industrial tool-watch shape Seiko made famous with the Marine Master. Utilitarian, a little mean, and exactly the kind of case I have always wanted to work on.

The movement is an NH35 automatic. 24 jewels, 21,600 bph, hacking seconds, hand-winding, about 41 hours of reserve. Green lume plots on the dial, a blue-lime hour hand cutting across them so the color pops in daylight and the glow separates at night. My dudeJeremy laser-etched the caseback for me a little while back. Something I hope to not continue bothering him with. 

NATO on the lugs. Done.

This one is going up on the site soon. I am already a little sad to see it leave.

Watch has been tested and is in 100 percent working condition.
